Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students with special needs, providing individualized support and instruction to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students with special needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other professionals
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate of Arts degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Valid California driver's license and insurable
  • Two recent letters of reference
  • Verification of six additional hours of in-service training in behavior modification, behavioral intervention, and/or DTT
Selection Process

The selection process will consist of a written examination, performance test, and scoring. The written examination will carry a weight of 100%, and all examinations must be passed with 75% or better. An eligibility list will be in effect for 6 months or until less than 3 applicants remain on the list.
