Job Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The role is designed to offer strategic leadership and management for financial operations within the designated area.

This position is accountable for overseeing the monetary flow, developing and sanctioning accounting functions, managing subordinate personnel, assigning tasks, and assessing related activities, while also preparing and sustaining various financial documentation.

The individual will strategize, organize, and execute programs in alignment with overarching organizational policies; they will communicate the progress of significant initiatives to senior-level administrators through comprehensive reports and discussions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees and evaluates the monetary flow to ensure effective management of fiscal operations, including accounting, payroll, human resources, procurement, and reimbursement.

Formulates and approves related initiatives to achieve objectives.
Manages and assesses subordinate personnel.
Prioritizes, assigns, and reviews financial operations.
Prepares and maintains a variety of reports and records, including budgetary documents.
Directs and executes numerous accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and departmental payroll.
Monitors and engages in audits and other projects or initiatives.
Administers debt management, ensuring adherence to debt agreements.
Collaborates with various departments and/or vendors regarding financial matters.

Participates in or leads staff meetings to share information; engages in professional development through training sessions, seminars, or conferences to enhance skills.

Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related discipline.

Depending on departmental needs, a bachelor's degree may be mandatory.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

In addition to meeting the educational standard, this position necessitates a minimum of four years of relevant, full-time equivalent experience.


SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

Depending on departmental operational requirements, a valid driver's license and a driving record compliant with City Driving Standards may be required.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Employees may be required to work beyond their regular hours in response to urgent departmental needs and/or city-wide emergencies. Support for emergency operations may involve duties outside of normal job responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications include experience in managing funding streams for Social Services.
