Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for collaborating with various organizational leaders to enhance the Company's financial reporting and corporate accounting functions. This role involves assisting in the creation of both internal and external financial statements, conducting research on technical accounting topics, performing benchmarking analysis for necessary disclosures, and aiding in the rollout of new financial systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of monthly financial reporting packages for financial leadership, utilizing various schedules and reports prepared by Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Accounting.
  • Serve as the primary resource for technical research on diverse accounting matters, including guidance related to leases, goodwill, intangibles, impairment, corporate transactions, debt, fair value assessments, and stock compensation.
  • Lead the integration of new accounting standards and formulate reporting requirements.
  • Draft accounting positions and policies that align with industry benchmarks.
  • Research, interpret, and apply complex accounting principles to address unique business transactions and emerging accounting challenges.
  • Analyze and report on emerging accounting issues from regulatory bodies such as the SEC and FASB.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners to ensure early identification of transactions that may impact accounting/reporting, including close collaboration with the tax department and business unit teams.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to drive improvements and automation in internal financial systems processes.
  • Continuously assess and enhance month-end close processes, aiming for process automation, improved accuracy, and superior customer service.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the Controllership function's financial systems, processes, structures, and outcomes.
  • Exhibit a proven ability in project management, establishing structure to manage work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Utilize problem-solving and influencing skills to ensure accounting outcomes align with intended goals.
  • Analyze financial statement variances monthly and quarterly, providing narrative explanations to management and external auditors.
  • Review and/or prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to support the month-end close process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 7-10 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 firm.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with FASB, SEC, and other relevant financial reporting frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting accounting research and drafting technical memorandums.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on follow-up.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills essential for engaging with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experience with financial reporting software such as Blackline or IBM Planning Analytics is advantageous.
