Financial Operations Specialist

Position Overview:

As a Financial Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the individual Patient Fund Accounts (PFA) for approximately 75 residents. Your duties will include preparing daily bank deposits for all accounts, reviewing, disbursing, and depositing all funds and requests related to the Resident PFAs. You will also serve as a backup and cross-train for the Accounts Payable position.


It is essential to establish effective relationships with colleagues and vendors, ensuring a collaborative work environment. You should be able to interact positively with co-workers and respond constructively to feedback from supervisors.


This role is classified as essential personnel, requiring you to work during emergencies or facility needs. All positions may require working different shifts and/or overtime as needed.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of Patient Fund Accounts.
  • Prepare and manage daily bank deposits.
  • Review and process funds requests efficiently.
  • Assist in Accounts Payable as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and governmental accounting.
  • Ability to reconcile complex financial data.
  • Experience in recording and analyzing financial information.
  • Knowledge of Patient Fund Accounting and Accounts Receivable.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and accounting software.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field.

Additional Considerations:

  • Prior experience in nonprofit government accounting is preferred.
