Key Responsibilities:

Deliver safe and effective evidence-based nutritional therapy that aligns with the standards set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage individual nutrition care.

Evaluate individual needs through comprehensive assessments, including interviews, dietary histories, and medical record reviews.

Formulate plans to address assessed needs, providing recommendations on diet composition, meal patterns, and nutritional supplements.

Work with the healthcare team to establish patient care goals.
Coordinate special dietary regimens.

Document initial assessments and nutritional care plans in accordance with established standards.

Assess nutritional status and recommend optimal care strategies.

Provide counseling to individuals and families on nutrition and therapeutic diets, considering their educational, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Plan and facilitate group nutrition classes as needed.

Engage in or lead food and nutrition research to showcase outcomes and develop policies for diverse populations.

Advocate for individuals and groups regarding nutrition and health issues, ensuring access to resources.

Participate in the design and implementation of educational programs for dietetic interns and students.

Serve as a mentor for dietetic interns and staff.


Human Resource Functions:
Conduct orientation and training, scheduling, and mentoring for professional growth.
Contribute to the development of referral processes to enhance public access to Registered Dietitians.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to document service outcomes and ensure compliance with regulations.

Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including those from relevant health organizations.

Compile statistics and complete productivity reports in a timely manner.
Utilize electronic information management tools for practice and research.
Create and evaluate patient education materials and dietary menus.
Work is typically performed in a clinical setting, adhering to all organizational policies and procedures. The specific duties outlined are not exhaustive but represent essential functions of the role.

Position Details:

Licensure:

Pennsylvania Registered Dietitian license required.
