Job Overview

Geisinger Health System is seeking dedicated Clinical Dietitians for outpatient services. This role offers a competitive sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. As a vital member of our Clinical Nutrition team, you will engage in delivering high-quality nutritional care and innovative solutions to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective evidence-based nutritional therapy aligned with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage individual nutrition care plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient needs through interviews, dietary histories, and medical records.
  • Formulate personalized nutrition plans that include dietary recommendations and supplement strategies.
  • Work with the healthcare team to establish patient care goals.
  • Document assessments and nutritional care plans in accordance with established protocols.
  • Evaluate and monitor the nutritional status of patients, providing recommendations for optimal care.
  • Educate patients and families on nutrition and therapeutic diets, considering their unique backgrounds.
  • Facilitate group nutrition classes on various topics as appropriate.
  • Engage in food and nutrition research to inform policy and recommendations.
  • Advocate for individuals and groups regarding nutrition-related issues and resources.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of educational programs for dietetic interns and staff.
  • Participate in mentoring and training initiatives for professional development.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of referral processes to enhance access to nutrition services.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Compile and analyze productivity statistics to monitor service effectiveness.
  • Utilize electronic management tools for practice, research, and education.
  • Create and review patient education materials related to nutrition.
Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting, with responsibilities adhering to organizational policies and procedures. This position emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development and collaboration within the healthcare team.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field (Required)
  • Registered Dietitian License in Pennsylvania (Required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (Preferred)
  • Certification as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (Preferred)
