Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Language Access Coordinator to join our team at the Mayor's Office on Latino Affairs (MOLA). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing coordination and technical assistance to agencies to ensure language access for limited English proficient (LEP) individuals in the District of Columbia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement language access plans to address the needs of LEP individuals in the District.
  • Provide technical assistance to agencies to ensure compliance with the Language Access Act of 2004.
  • Coordinate with community-based organizations to provide outreach and education to LEP individuals.
  • Develop and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in language access.
  • Provide policy recommendations to improve language access to LEP individuals.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Language Access Act of 2004 and its implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect, translate, and disseminate current policy program information about relevant government services.
