Job Title: Language Testing Specialist

Join the Center for Applied Linguistics as a Language Testing Specialist and contribute to the development of language proficiency tests for K-12 students. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in creating high-quality test items that assess English language skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and develop test materials, including linguistic content, graphics descriptions, and scripts, to align with the WIDA ELD Standards Framework.
  • Implement stakeholder feedback and conduct qualitative analyses of student responses to test items.
  • Conduct internal reviews, proofing, and mock administrations of test materials to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Select training responses for use in scoring and perform quality control checks of test items prior to delivery and live administration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with at least two years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with K-12 English learners in U.S. school contexts, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), and developing English as a Second Language (ESL)/English as a Foreign Language (EFL) tests for K-12 students.
  • Strong understanding of English language development and K-12 education standards and practices.
