Key Responsibilities- Oversee preparation and production of all cold food items, including salads, appetizers, and desserts
- Supervise pantry and prep personnel, ensuring they have the necessary supplies and equipment to perform their duties
- Inspect and rotate all food products to ensure freshness and quality
- Prepare and store raw food products prior to final assembly of cold food items
- Ensure adherence to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Assist pantry and prep personnel with completion of duties as needed
- Monitor plating of cold foods to ensure presentation meets hotel standards
- Use knives, slicers, mixers, choppers, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
- Clean and break down work area, returning ingredients to proper storage at end of shift
- Ensure all closing side work is complete, cooking equipment is turned off, and kitchen is secure at end of shift
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary culinary training or certification as a cook from a recognized culinary training school
- One year of experience cooking in an upscale, high-volume hotel or freestanding restaurant
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Food Service Sanitation Standards
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
