Position Overview

The Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability Manager is a pivotal role for overseeing the comprehensive EHS&S initiatives at our facilities. With a background of 8-10 years in management within regulated environments, this position is crucial for ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of policies aimed at enhancing personnel safety and environmental protection.
  • Collaborate with teams across various locations to promote a proactive safety culture integrated into daily operations.
  • Establish and manage an EHS&S inspection program utilizing the Enablon management system, ensuring all findings are addressed effectively.
  • Report directly to senior management, providing insights and updates on EHS&S compliance and initiatives.
  • Engage with facility leadership to conduct regular reviews and maintain alignment with safety objectives.
  • Advise on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring all staff are informed and trained accordingly.
  • Ensure timely submission of EHS&S reports and permits to relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Work with procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards for EHS&S materials and services.
  • Support and respond to inspections from regulatory agencies, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Participate in construction projects to ensure EHS&S considerations are integrated from the outset.
  • Develop budgets and timelines for EHS&S initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Monitor the progress of EHS&S projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Oversee the selection and management of third-party service providers for EHS&S needs.
  • Guide and mentor EHS&S staff, fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and mitigate potential EHS&S issues.
  • Uphold company policies regarding equal opportunity and affirmative action.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as life sciences or environmental engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in a regulated environment, with a focus on EHS&S.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include CSP, CIH, or other relevant EHS credentials.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of GLPs, GMPs, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.
