Job Overview

The Senior Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage various tasks effectively. Daily interactions will occur with management, guests, and team members, emphasizing the importance of embodying the company's culture and leadership values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance within hospitality or commercial sectors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and adept problem-solving abilities.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and delegate responsibilities as needed.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
  • Customer service-focused approach.
  • Maintain inventory controls and manage supply orders as required.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance tasks on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Hold a CPO certification or be willing to obtain one.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of swimming pool facilities.
  • Experience in repairing mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The role demands a commitment to a 40-hour work week, including evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring guest satisfaction through friendly and helpful service.
  • Maintaining HVAC systems, boilers, electrical systems, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance to uphold hotel quality standards.
  • Monitoring and repairing systems related to AC, TVs, and lighting.
  • Maintaining swimming pool cleanliness and functionality.
  • Possessing or being willing to obtain CPO certification, with costs covered by the property.
  • Performing inspections and repairs on plumbing systems, fixtures, and kitchen equipment.
  • Refurbishing and repairing furniture in guest rooms and common areas.
  • Proactively troubleshooting issues and supporting team members.
  • Adhering to corporate and brand standards in all operations.
  • Assisting with training initiatives for hotel staff.
  • Maintaining property conditions that meet or exceed quality assurance audits.
  • Participating in safety procedures and committee meetings.
  • Holding necessary certifications for HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and swimming pool maintenance.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for the majority of the shift.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent performance of simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive movements.
  • Capability to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, and walk on uneven surfaces regularly.
  • Frequent handling of objects and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Physical demands must be met to successfully perform essential job functions.
  • HVAC certification is mandatory.
