Position Overview:

Noon Energy, a pioneering force in advanced Long Duration Energy Storage solutions, is seeking a Chief Commercial Officer who will report directly to the CEO. This individual will play a crucial role in formulating and executing Noon's commercial vision to facilitate its swift expansion. A comprehensive understanding of current energy storage technologies is essential, enabling the candidate to articulate the financial and product advantages of our solutions over competitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Commercial Strategy Development: Spearhead the commercialization approach in collaboration with the product team. Innovate business models to assess economics and future profitability.
  2. Partnership Development: Investigate various partnership frameworks with end-users and manufacturers for the diverse applications of our technology. Negotiate and finalize agreements related to project deployment, partnerships, and potential licensing. Collaborate with R&D, Finance, and Product teams to evaluate the feasibility and timelines for prospective projects.
  3. Business Development: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations to meet business goals. Understand their needs and challenges to effectively position our energy storage solutions. Utilize existing networks within the renewables and stationary energy storage sectors to identify future opportunities.
  4. Sales and Marketing Leadership: Oversee the sales and marketing teams, establishing performance benchmarks and providing strategic guidance. Design and implement marketing and branding initiatives to elevate the company's profile and reputation within the industry.
  5. Public Representation: Act as a representative of Noon Energy with customer executives and at industry conferences globally. Deliver engaging presentations that highlight the features, benefits, and return on investment of our energy storage solutions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis: Collaborate with the product team to develop go-to-market strategies and manage commercial operations. Stay updated on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting energy storage and renewable energy. Leverage market insights to refine commercial strategies and uncover new business prospects.
  2. Government Relations: Establish and maintain strong connections with key policymakers. Provide strategic insights on market design and regulatory matters related to long-duration storage, while monitoring significant developments in these areas.
  3. Financial Strategy: Assist in enhancing knowledge and engagement with lenders and financial institutions involved in stationary storage projects, including equity, debt, tax equity, and structured products. Future capital raising efforts may extend to government and strategic funding sources.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in technology and industrial sectors with complex, integrated products in renewable energy (e.g., energy storage systems, hydrogen production, fuel cells).
  • In-depth knowledge of stationary storage, macro and microeconomic trends, industry developments, and potential business opportunities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of energy storage technologies and their applications across utilities, commercial and industrial sectors, community solar, microgrids, data centers, and remote areas.
  • Previous experience in commercial leadership roles focusing on enterprise sales of complex technology products.
  • Experience in fast-paced startup environments with a focus on commercial leadership.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen for modeling storage revenues.
  • Solid grasp of financial analysis, investment principles, and familiarity with tax equity and debt financing is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is required; a technical degree is recommended, and an advanced degree is preferred.

Compensation: Total compensation ranges from $200,000 to $280,000, inclusive of performance-based bonuses, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Our innovative stationary battery technology utilizes the same chemistry found in photosynthesis, eliminating the need for mining precious metals. Noon Energy batteries provide over 200 hours of storage capacity, delivering renewable electricity at a cost of 5-6 ¢/kWh when paired with wind and solar energy. Our technology is robust, safe, and has even been tested on Mars. We are initially targeting the $1 trillion stationary energy storage market, with future applications in long-haul shipping and trucking.
