Precision Neuroscience is pioneering a direct interface between the human brain and technology, aiming to assist millions globally who are affected by neurological disorders. Founded in 2021, we are at the forefront of developing and commercializing brain-computer interfaces (BCI). As part of our team, you will collaborate with specialists from various disciplines, including neurosurgery, mechanical engineering, machine learning, and microfabrication, to explore the limits of innovation.

We are in search of a Vice President of Software Engineering and AI to spearhead the development and implementation of our software and AI systems that gather, process, and analyze extensive high-resolution neural data. These systems utilize advanced real-time machine learning algorithms, making critical information accessible and actionable for both healthcare professionals and patients.

This role presents a unique opportunity to oversee the entire software product lifecycle, from initial research and development to formal validation and commercial launch. The software and AI solutions you will direct are essential for the operation of high-performance brain-computer interfaces that aim to restore functionality and independence to individuals with severe neurological impairments.

At Precision, you will join a well-funded and dynamic organization, working alongside experts from diverse fields to enable patients to regain their autonomy. This position requires on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all Software Engineering and Machine Learning projects, ensuring product safety, effectiveness, and timely delivery within budget.
  • Manage the design, recruitment, and expansion of the Software and Machine Learning teams, representing these areas in the senior leadership group.
  • Engage in agile collaboration on cross-functional initiatives with various teams across the organization.
  • Evaluate technical designs and approve development plans for significant software and machine learning projects.
  • Provide updates on project status, risks, options, challenges, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Guide, mentor, and oversee Software Engineering and Machine Learning team leaders.
  • Work with the team to publish and present findings to external audiences.
Qualifications
  • Over 10 years of experience in a leadership role within software engineering or machine learning.
  • Experience in developing and deploying regulated software for medical devices in the United States.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Proficient programming skills in C/C++.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing software teams that deliver quality products.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, interdisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Experience in developing Software and AI tools as medical devices is preferred.
  • Strong background in collaborating with Quality and Regulatory teams is advantageous.
