Job Summary

The Sports Events Manager will oversee the preparation, execution, and close-out of various venue sporting events. This role requires strong leadership and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead team members to ensure the successful execution of events.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to event hosts and guests, ensuring a consistent and quality experience.
  • Event Setup and Execution: Coordinate the setup and execution of events, including sports equipment and facility preparation.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of facilities, including restrooms, concessions, and common areas.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of grounds maintenance and ballfield preparation, identifying and reporting deficiencies to management.
  • Incident Response: Respond to incidents and complete incident reports to management.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a supervisory role, two years of experience in a customer service field, and two years of experience in large-scale facility preparations for various sports events.
  • License and Credentials: Reliable transportation and Food Safety Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of Venue Sports Equipment: Knowledge of and ability to setup/operate various venue sports equipment, including basketball goals, volleyball nets, and soccer goals.
  • Knowledge of Facility Operations: Knowledge of and ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system, prepare/serve food and drinks, and clean and sanitize facilities and equipment.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to motivate, evaluate, and provide corrective action to employees, as well as communicate effectively with the public and team members.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think critically, and solve problems effectively.
