Key Responsibilities- Replenish seafood products through proper buying procedures, ensuring accurate and timely ordering to meet customer demand.
- Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits, maintaining accurate records and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Control spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals and participating in inventory management to optimize product availability and minimize waste.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of product quality and inventory levels.
- Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate, monitoring inventory turns and making adjustments as needed to meet customer demand.
- Oversee customer special order procedure, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of customer requests.
- Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize product availability and minimize waste.
- Support leadership in conducting inventories, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of product levels and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of sales and inventory levels.
- Separate, scan, and dispose of spoilage and shrink, maintaining accurate records and minimizing waste.
- Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work, working all scheduled shifts and attending required trainings and meetings.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and modeling suggestive selling techniques, answering phones and pages promptly and courteously.
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of sales and inventory levels.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, maintaining a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing, and immediately reporting safety hazards and violations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of seafood products, including types, sources, and handling procedures.
- Working knowledge and application of all seafood merchandising expectations, including product rotation, stocking, and display.
- Ability to educate team members on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm for seafood products.
- Strong basic math skills, including ability to accurately calculate inventory levels and sales data.
- Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems, including ability to accurately and efficiently manage inventory and sales data.
- Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team, including ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and team members, including ability to provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures, including ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

- 12+ months retail experience, including experience in a seafood department or similar environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, including ability to lift and move seafood products and equipment.
- In an 8-hour work day, standing/walking 6-8 hours, including ability to stand for long periods of time and walk between departments and stockrooms.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, including ability to use hands to lift, carry, and move seafood products and equipment.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching, including ability to move quickly and efficiently between departments and stockrooms.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, including ability to use cleaning products and equipment to maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit, including ability to work in a hot and humid environment.
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment, including ability to work in a refrigerated environment and handle seafood products in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment, including ability to use sharp objects and equipment to prepare and display seafood products.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, including ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery, including ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
