Facilities Specialist at SpaceX

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Facilities Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting our mission by ensuring the smooth operation of our Redmond campus.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for critical facilities and equipment
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with SpaceX's procurement policies
  • Oversee Jira ticket management and maintenance scheduling
  • Provide support for events and VIP visits
  • Assist with office relocations and move planning
  • Perform job walks with key business unit managers and supervisors
  • Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved and vetted
  • Support campus services such as the bike program, laundry program, and office supplies
  • Assist with badging, ITAR, and safety training
  • Create RFPOs and track purchase orders
  • Provide weekly updates on project schedules and status reports
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of experience in managing facilities vendors or contract management
  • Experience with managing commercial, office, or industrial facilities
  • Familiarity with Space Planning procedures and operations
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications and ability to navigate different software programs
  • Ability to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Communication skills for relaying data between employees, vendors, and customers
  • Able to read and understand basic floor plans
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the workweek to other SpaceX sites
Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks.

You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.

Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.

Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
