Job Overview

The Finance Operations Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams while providing support to the Director of Accounting. This position entails developing and mentoring team members, delivering accounting services to various branches and headquarters functions, and collaborating with colleagues at the Rostock Shared Service Center and the International Accounting Group in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycle.
  • Supervise daily operations of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable specialists.
  • Collaborate with the AP and AR departments in Germany to ensure accurate booking and clearance of payments and checks.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting Department in Germany for unclaimed property filings.
  • Manage internal audit processes relevant to the department.
  • Monitor and track daily invoice processing activities.
  • Generate weekly reports to assess the volume and efficiency of processed invoices by each specialist.
  • Assist in enhancing departmental efficiency through the creation of insightful reports.
  • Lead a growing team of four members and provide training for new hires.
  • Organize quarterly training sessions with other departments to share information, review policies, and discuss best practices.
  • Responsible for the annual 1099 filing process.
  • Support the Director of Accounting with special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience is essential, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, particularly Microsoft applications, SAP, and invoice processing tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with leaders across various organizational levels and functional areas such as tax, treasury, and corporate finance.
  • Strong analytical skills to design, develop, and interpret necessary financial reports and recurring standard journals.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages (German, Spanish, etc.) is advantageous.
