Overview
Provide comprehensive accounting support for commercial real estate assets.

This role necessitates close collaboration with the Property Manager, Department Managers, Corporate Accounting, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable, Lease Administration, and the Systems Manager.

The Property Financial Analyst will report to the Accounting Manager while receiving guidance from the Senior Property Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Maintain GAAP-compliant accrual general ledgers.
- Prepare and process monthly journal entries. Generate monthly financial statements in accordance with the established timeline and conduct thorough analyses of results. Communicate any concerns to the Accounting Manager.
- Review income, expenses, and ongoing capital projects for accurate coding, payments, and necessary accruals. Address issues with the Property Manager or other departments as needed.

- Analyze new monthly leasing activities and collaborate with the Lease Administration team and Accounting Manager to ensure proper revenue recognition.

- Examine lease documents and prepare summaries of significant leasing activities, confirming dates and amounts while identifying potential lease liabilities.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain quarterly workpapers as outlined in the standardized workpaper model.
- Execute quarterly and annual operating escalation reconciliations to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of recognized revenue. Review tenant leases to ensure precise CAM billings.
- Undertake special projects as required and provide support to both accounting and property management teams.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and contribute to reporting and other meetings as mandated by property management or accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Fundamental understanding of general ledger activities, with a preference for experience with Yardi applications.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience, with at least two years in the commercial real estate sector. Alternatively, 2-4 years of public accounting experience with real estate clients.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multitasking capabilities and meeting deadlines.
- Must be a team-oriented problem solver.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
