The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis plays a crucial role in the financial health of the organization. This position involves the meticulous reconciliation of all cash and cash-equivalent accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, along with their respective sub-accounts. Additionally, the analyst will oversee the quarterly reconciliation of all other balance sheet accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation for monthly financial close, invoicing, and compliance with grant requirements.
- Analyze historical and current operational records, identifying trends, costs, and revenue projections.
- Document expected revenues and expenditures, presenting findings to management.
- Develop financial concepts for effective planning and control.
- Assist in the preparation of special studies, analyses, and recommendations regarding budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Advise management on resource utilization and budgetary assumptions.
- Oversee the FP&A process for the current fiscal year and prepare the budget for the subsequent year.
Qualifications
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, with the ability to adjust focus. Prolonged periods of sitting are expected.
The work environment noise level is typically moderate, akin to a business office setting.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required, with a preference for a Master’s in Business Administration. A minimum of three years of experience in an analytical capacity is essential, demonstrating initiative and precision. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary, particularly with large datasets, utilizing functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and filters. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills are required, along with the ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical scenarios. Candidates should possess the ability to interpret financial documents and respond to inquiries effectively.
