Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Director of Operational Excellence to lead large-scale business unit and enterprise-wide initiatives through the expert deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing end-to-end operations, creating efficiencies, enhancing quality, and positioning the organization for profitable growth by mitigating the need for incremental administrative costs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Operational Excellence Initiatives: Develops an initiative intake process for prioritizing and establishing value, ensuring key projects are aligned to top organization priorities, meet the needs of leadership, mitigate risk, and that business commitments are on time, within budget, and capture expected value performance results.
- Build a Rigorous Learning and Development Approach: Builds a rigorous learning and development approach focused on desk-level procedures, operational changes on tech deployments, job aides, associate operational performance, and changes from process optimization.
- Leverage Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies: Leverages the Lean and Six Sigma DMAIC approach and related methods for all phases of projects with an emphasis on data collection/analytics, process analysis, implementation in line with sponsorship support, and control reports on the status and health of the portfolio using the dashboard to provide visibility into key metrics.
- Develop and Deploy a Business Improvement Discipline: Develops and deploys a business improvement discipline and practice across the organization, adopting practices of Lean and Six Sigma and following the DMAIC approach across all phases.
- Establish and Oversee a Comprehensive Communication Plan: Establishes and oversees a comprehensive communication plan and informs key stakeholders about the progress of initiatives.
- Align Internal Resources and Manage External Sourcing: Aligns internal resources to projects and manages external sourcing to obtain full competency to complete projects.
- Support Department-Level and Enterprise Executives: Supports department-level and enterprise executives in decision-making, setting strategic goals, and investment priorities that position the organization for digital and automation capabilities and in goal-setting activities.
- Lead and Develop Direct Reports: Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.
Education: BA/BS in the healthcare field
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience at a director or above level with significant large-scale business optimization experience up to $100M+ in valuation
Certifications: Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt required or obtained within a reasonable timeframe
Preferred Skills: Master's degree, strategic planning in operational settings, data analysis, and experience with Learning and Development and Process Engineering
