Role Overview:
As a Senior Liaison Engineer within the Service Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and production of advanced aerospace products. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that engineering projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

Essential Skills:
  1. Proficient understanding of aircraft structural design, complemented by hands-on experience in assessing discrepancies and formulating structural repairs.
  2. Experience in liaison engineering within a post-production or Material Review Board (MRB) context.
  3. Competence in utilizing computer-aided design tools such as Smart Team, CCD, CATIA V4 & V5, AutoCAD, and GSBI for aircraft structure design and analysis.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and management in a dynamic hangar or workshop environment.
  6. Adaptability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as needed.
  7. Physical capability to navigate scaffolding or support equipment to assess and address aircraft discrepancies.
  8. Basic knowledge of static stress analysis to assist in engineering decisions and structural repair documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with Gulfstream aircraft models such as GIV, G450, GV, G550, G650, G500, G600, G700, G400, and G800.
  2. Familiarity with Maintenance and Structural Repair Manuals.
  3. Understanding of composite and metal bonded structures design and repair methodologies.
  4. Knowledge of FAA regulations and compliance processes within production environments.
  5. Experience interacting with foreign airworthiness regulatory bodies.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 10 years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines. Advanced degrees may contribute to experience credit.

Position Purpose:
Your role will involve assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of design and engineering tasks that support the production of General Dynamics' innovative aerospace solutions.

Core Duties:
  1. Contribute to the planning and development of significant engineering initiatives.
  2. Provide specialized technical support to team members.
  3. Apply advanced techniques and theoretical modifications to address complex engineering challenges.
  4. Develop and implement solutions while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
  5. Work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  6. Act as a liaison with external representatives to facilitate project objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Continuously seek improvements in processes to meet customer expectations.
  2. Stay informed about advancements in the aerospace field to recommend enhancements that improve product quality and efficiency.
