Position Summary & Responsibilities

Are you looking to contribute positively to the community?

Join our Disciplinary team as a Senior Medical Investigator. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations related to alleged violations of medical standards, particularly focusing on claims of inappropriate conduct and boundary issues. Your duties will include gathering substantial evidence through various means, such as interviewing complainants, healthcare professionals, and witnesses, as well as issuing subpoenas when necessary. Onsite evaluations of practices and facilities may also be part of your responsibilities.

The Senior Medical Investigator is expected to meticulously document and report all investigative processes and findings through comprehensive reports, detailed logs, and memorandums. Occasionally, you may be required to provide testimony during depositions, public hearings, and legal proceedings.

Successful candidates will possess a solid understanding of the statutes and regulations pertaining to the Healing Arts Act or similar health profession practice acts. Coordination of investigative efforts with other entities may also be required. This position demands the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse range of healthcare professionals, complainants, witnesses, legal experts, law enforcement, and others, both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in investigative roles, including fact-finding analysis, investigative research, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Education, training, or experience in investigating allegations of inappropriate conduct.
  • Experience in criminal justice or healthcare-related fields such as Risk Management, Quality Assurance/Utilization, Medical Records (R.R.A., A.R.T., R.H.I.T.), or as a licensed, registered, or certified healthcare provider (e.g., R.N., L.P.N., E.M.T.), therapist, counselor, social worker, or other relevant experience as determined by the agency.
