Overview:
Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) plays a crucial role in delivering essential services to the Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clientele. The integration of IT & Operations teams under unified leadership aims to address the dynamic needs of clients and market demands while anticipating technological advancements to enhance and support the transformation of GBIS operations. GBTO is central to navigating these technological and operational challenges.

Role Summary:
The Sourcing Specialist within the SG Americas Sourcing Department is instrumental in achieving the overarching objectives of the SG global Sourcing Department based in Paris (ACHA/DIR). This role focuses on minimizing and managing SG's cost structure and mitigating commercial and legal risks across the Americas region. The Sourcing Specialist will handle mid to low-level business requirements across various expenditure categories, including HR, Real Estate, IT Hardware/Software, Services, and Consulting. The ideal candidate will possess a robust sourcing acumen and be adept at applying sourcing strategies and techniques across diverse spending categories. Experience in gathering business requirements, market testing, and negotiating/drafting commercial and legal terms is essential, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day duties encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting sourcing category leads by implementing the sourcing process for mid to low-level projects and agreements.
  • Negotiating and drafting mid to low-level agreements, including Master Agreements, Schedules, Statements of Work (SOWs), Amendments, and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
  • Enhancing quality and service while reducing costs through supplier rationalization and optimizing service delivery.
  • Creating and managing supplier RFXs and evaluating proposals.
  • Formulating contractual terms with Legal department support to ensure optimal arrangements and adherence to best practices, including managing document templates.
  • Coordinating and engaging in Global/Regional/Local contract negotiations that directly influence SG's profit margins.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and sharing administrative documents and managing logistical contract signature duties related to specific commodity groups.
  • Ensuring compliance with sourcing policies and procedures.
  • Meeting the objectives of key stakeholders and customers.
  • Building professional relationships with suppliers and managing related activities (supplier management).
  • Establishing professional relationships with business owners and internal clients, managing related activities (customer management), and participating in strategy meetings as required.
  • Independently collecting and analyzing market and financial data from various sources to effectively manage assigned commodity areas (Benchmarking).
  • Proactively identifying new and alternative supply sources while fostering supplier relationships.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with other departments during contract negotiations (Legal, Third Party Risk, Compliance, etc.).
  • Contributing to group projects, such as sourcing transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Required Profile:
Competencies:
  • Strong foundational experience and knowledge of the sourcing process.
  • Expertise in negotiating and drafting contract terms and conditions.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in analyzing spending categories for cost-saving opportunities and service enhancements, developing actionable plans, securing stakeholder support, and executing sourcing/negotiation strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a global team.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in basic office applications, including MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Experience with procurement and sourcing-related applications.
Prior Work Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of sourcing experience with relevant category knowledge.
  • Strong overall sourcing expertise.
Education:
Required:
  • Experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
Desired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • Legal background or degree.
Language Skills:
  • Preferred: Bilingual skills in French and English.
