Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in rotating shifts to guarantee continuous operational coverage throughout the year.
  • Collect and assess real-time data regarding the transportation infrastructure across the NY/NJ/CT area.
  • Verify the accuracy of information, assess the significance of incidents, and disseminate pertinent details to relevant stakeholders.
  • Devise strategies to inform the public about transportation challenges and promote resource sharing among different agencies.
  • Oversee and manage Intelligent Transportation Systems to provide timely updates on the regional transportation landscape.
  • Keep precise records of all actions undertaken during shifts.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or system-related issues that may impact operational efficiency.

This position may be based at various client locations.

Essential Qualifications
  • Capability to interpret and analyze maps (GIS/GPS).
  • Familiarity with the transportation networks within the NY/NJ/CT region.
  • Strong data analysis and computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Aptitude for managing multiple tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comprehension and compliance with client’s Administrative & ITS Policies and Procedures.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of traveler information systems and transportation terminology.
  • Previous experience in traffic operations or a related discipline.
  • Thorough understanding of NY/NJ/CT roadways, bridges, and tunnels.
  • Experience in monitoring broadcasts and crowd-sourced information.
