Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture new private banking lending and deposit relationships.
  • Address all banking and tailored lending solution requirements identified within CIBC Private Wealth Management, aiming to become a trusted advisor through consistent client engagement and relationship development.
  • Manage both new and existing client relationships while identifying opportunities to offer additional credit and non-credit services. Act as the primary internal resource for clients regarding their lending and deposit needs.
  • Collaborate with CIBC Private Wealth Management Relationship Managers and team members to secure approvals for new business and modifications to existing arrangements, actively participating in pre-screen and relationship strategy meetings.
  • Identify product and service opportunities for other business units, contributing to the creation of innovative solutions for client needs, coordinating presentations, and engaging partners as necessary.
  • Ensure consistent deal structuring that aligns client needs with appropriate risk mitigation through thorough analysis and credit underwriting. Act as the lead to facilitate deals through the underwriting and closing processes.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and mentor junior team members to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Oversee banking portfolio responsibilities, including portfolio reviews, overdue accounts, renewals, and collection of essential financial information.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of risk ratings and identification of risks within the assigned portfolio, staying informed about policy and procedural changes that may affect the portfolio.
  • Represent CIBC Private Wealth Management at local market and industry events to enhance market knowledge and cultivate new client relationships.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that reflects the values of CIBC.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in developing and managing lending and deposit relationships with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Economics is preferred.
  • Proven expertise in credit analysis, investment portfolios, and trust solutions.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain private banking relationships with a high level of proficiency.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment, introducing suitable partners and a range of investment, trust, and banking solutions to high net worth individuals, families, and institutions.
  • Capability to apply credit expertise and identify risks within specific banking sectors.
  • Proficient in conducting necessary analyses and documentation to facilitate credit actions related to the Private Banker's existing portfolio.
  • Formal credit training is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in financial analysis and modeling.
