Position Overview

The Lead Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Controller and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the organization by delivering financial, administrative, and clerical assistance to the Finance Department, ensuring precise, efficient, and effective financial and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Finance team (and KODA community) to honor the precious gift of donation, embodying our core values of compassion, dedication, and accountability.
  • Assisting in the execution of general accounting activities, functions, and initiatives.
  • Preparing and inputting accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions as necessary.
  • Generating monthly analytical and statistical reports.
  • Maintaining the computerized accounting system, including the general ledger, balance sheet accounts, and income and expense accounts.
  • Supporting the preparation and oversight of budgets.
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and monthly recurring journal entries. Aiding in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
  • Reviewing general ledger accounts for accuracy, including renaming and reclassifying items.
  • Planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of accounting staff members.
  • Evaluating and recommending improvements to accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Assisting in the collection, duplication, and secure storage of essential business documents, handling confidential information according to standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinating and participating in the annual audit, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the development of specific working instructions for this role.
  • Performing additional accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required by the Controller.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of accounting or related experience is essential.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office.
  • Experience with computerized accounting and data systems is advantageous.
