Overview

The Plant Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in steering the engineering, maintenance, and facility operations at the Irvine site. This position is tasked with establishing a premier maintenance framework, overseeing repairs, preventive measures, and the installation of machinery at the facility. Additionally, this role extends support to international plants for machine installation, troubleshooting failures, and offering expertise on maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of exemplary maintenance strategies, processes, and protocols to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead by example, consistently advocating for high-performance standards and results-oriented approaches.
  • Embody and promote the core values of the organization.
  • Generate reports through training sessions, individual development meetings, and external technical training.
  • Prioritize preventive and predictive maintenance over reactive solutions.
  • Aim for zero unexpected equipment downtime by implementing comprehensive maintenance practices.
  • Guide the team in identifying root causes of equipment failures and managing corrective measures effectively.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Continuously enhance the effectiveness of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Utilize CMMS to improve machine uptime, response times, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Guarantee that the facility meets all industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain the facility in excellent operational condition, reflecting the organization's values.
  • Plan, budget, and schedule modifications to the facility as necessary, including cost assessments and layouts, while managing contractors.
  • Expand production capabilities for future needs.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of facility infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, and compressors.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to departmental processes and tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, facility management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Prior experience in maintenance management is essential.
  • Solid understanding of compressors and electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
