Overview

The Engineering Manager for Plant Operations is tasked with delivering leadership and strategic direction to the engineering, maintenance, and facility operations at the Irvine site. This role is pivotal in establishing a premier maintenance framework, overseeing repairs, preventive maintenance, and the installation of machinery. Additionally, this position extends support to all international manufacturing sites for machine installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of maintenance best practices, strategies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Exemplify high-performance standards and promote outcome-oriented thinking.

  • Facilitate training sessions and development meetings to foster team growth.
  • Prioritize preventive and predictive maintenance over reactive measures.
  • Aim for zero unplanned equipment downtime through the implementation of Total Maintenance strategies.
  • Guide the team in identifying root causes of equipment failures and managing corrective actions effectively.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Continuously enhance the effectiveness of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Utilize CMMS to drive improvements in machine availability, response times, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations in all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain adherence to industry regulations within the facility.
  • Ensure the facility is consistently in optimal operating condition, reflecting organizational values.
  • Plan and manage facility modifications, including budgeting and contractor oversight.
  • Expand production capabilities as necessary.
  • Oversee the maintenance of critical infrastructure such as UPS systems, generators, and compressors.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to departmental processes and tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, facility management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management.
  • Proven experience in Maintenance Management is essential.
  • Strong understanding of compressors and electrical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
