About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Managing Director to join our M&A team at MUFG. As a key member of our deal teams, you will work closely with junior bankers and clients to drive origination and execution of M&A transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with referral sources and business owners to identify new prospect leads
  • Qualify and generate new prospect leads through industry research and networking
  • Manage client relationships and oversee all client and counter-party communication
  • Lead a specific practice area and develop thought leadership in target sectors
  • Oversee the creation of financial models and transaction collateral
  • Lead all key steps in the execution process and negotiate with clients and counter-parties
  • Assist other bankers in firm building activities, including training, recruiting, and mentoring

Requirements

  • 10-plus years of experience in sell-side M&A advisory
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare industry M&A experience
  • Fundamental understanding of the healthcare industry with specific sector expertise
  • Outstanding academic credentials from a top-tier school
  • Team player with the ability to motivate transaction teams and lead from the trenches
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly proficient financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Significant level of maturity and ability to work as part of a small team
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in an entrepreneurial, demanding, and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to engage with prospects and intermediaries, develop relationships, and work seamlessly as a bridge for introducing other senior bankers into these relationships
  • Excellent computer, presentation drafting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work comfortably in an unstructured environment
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative and solve problems
