Position Overview

Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Officer at the Director or Executive Director level, specializing in Leveraged Finance, LBO, and Corporate Finance transactions. This role is integral to the Corporate and Structured Finance Credit Risk team located in the Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive credit risk assessments and conduct thorough market and financial analyses for clients in the Americas, focusing on transactions proposed by front office teams, particularly in Corporate and Structured Finance.
  • Oversee and manage a team of credit officers and analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and high-quality output in credit risk evaluations.
  • Assume responsibility for writing, reviewing, and validating analyses generated by credit analysts, ensuring adherence to Natixis policies and procedures governing credit processes.
  • Assist senior management in maintaining ownership of the firm's credit processes, ensuring compliance with delegation authorities and lending policies.
  • Supervise the delivery of timely and relevant analyses in response to new limit requests while effectively managing the existing portfolio.
  • Conduct in-depth credit evaluations and risk assessments, focusing on Leveraged Finance and Corporate Finance transactions, including the validation of internal credit ratings and regulatory metrics.
  • Engage in the overall management of the Credit Risk group, contributing to the team’s risk culture and sharing insights with other functional teams.
  • Participate in the development and periodic review of policies and limit frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Propose risk mitigation strategies for individual counterparties and portfolios as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships with various business units to prioritize and respond effectively to requests for onboarding new counterparties.
  • Prepare analytical reports and presentations on portfolio performance, staying informed about industry trends and macroeconomic factors that may impact the portfolio.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and credit committees.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Graduate degree is preferred. CFA designation is advantageous.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant credit experience in a banking, insurance, or large corporate environment, with a focus on LBO, Leveraged Finance, and Corporate Finance.
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Credit Risk Officer with a solid understanding of credit risk metrics and mitigation techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge of internal credit rating models and credit risk monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with the banking sector and financial products pertinent to Corporate and Structured Finance in the Americas.
  • Understanding of lending policies specific to Credit Risk in Leveraged Finance and Corporate Finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of various corporate sectors and financial instruments, including structured finance and capital markets.
  • Strong analytical skills in credit risk analysis and cash flow modeling.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
