Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Teller acts as the main point of contact for both customers and non-customers, delivering exceptional customer service throughout every interaction. This role involves executing a variety of customer transactions daily, providing information, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to enhance customer relationships by suggesting additional bank products and services.

NOTE: Starting pay is $16.00/hour. This entry-level position provides exposure to diverse transaction types. Gaining knowledge of Union Bank's offerings can lead to career advancement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately process all financial transactions.
  • Manage cash drawer responsibilities and adhere to proper balancing protocols.
  • Handle assignments that are semi-routine, requiring the ability to identify deviations from standard practices.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Promote additional bank services and refer customers to relevant departments to meet management objectives.
  • Continuously learn about products, fees, and policies to make informed product recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations relevant to assigned duties.
  • Understand and follow all applicable bank policies, laws, and regulations. Complete compliance training and adhere to internal processes and controls.
  • Report any compliance issues or regulatory violations as per bank policy.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance as a critical function of this role.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • High school diploma is necessary.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Previous experience in sales and customer service is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills that align with Union Bank's customer service philosophy.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in computer usage.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Indoor work environment with no exposure to outdoor elements or hazards.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional sedentary tasks involving lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
