Job Overview
The Lead Financial Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting management with the formulation, preparation, and oversight of the organization’s annual financial plan. This position encompasses monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting, along with various responsibilities related to financial strategy and expenditure management.

This role will involve analyzing actual expenses against budgeted figures, forecasting future financial performance, assessing headcount metrics, and engaging in diverse financial analytics tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of expenditure data, generating reports that benchmark budgeted versus actual performance.
  • Leverage financial and budgeting software to create reports that enhance business management for key decision-makers.
  • Provide training to staff on financial management and budgeting software.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of proposed modifications in services or organizational structure, preparing updated expense forecasts for management.
  • Collaborate with department and office leaders to formulate financial projections.
  • Compile financial and headcount information for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to current and prospective business development initiatives.
  • Assist in the completion of quarterly and annual industry surveys.
  • Execute various reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy between payroll and headcount data.
  • Support the creation of monthly and ad-hoc analyses across various offices, practices, and departments.
  • Innovate new methods to integrate information, improving accessibility for decision-makers.
  • Undertake assignments as requested by management to support various initiatives and projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Expertise in MS Excel; familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Required Experience
3 to 5 years of experience in budget or financial analysis within the legal or a related sector is essential.

Preferred Experience
Experience with budgeting software such as Xcelerate is advantageous.

Required Education
A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

Preferred Education
A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

Compensation Information
The estimated base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000. The actual salary offered will be contingent upon various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, educational background, certifications, and, if applicable, the location from which the applicant will perform the job.
