Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Director to lead our culinary team at Cambridge Senior Living. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our culinary department, ensuring the highest quality of food products, and supervising culinary staff to meet financial expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of our residents, utilizing fresh and made-from-scratch ingredients.
  • Supervise and train culinary staff to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food preparation.
  • Manage food costs, labor, and inventory to meet budgetary guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Administrator to review and adjust menus, recipes, and food preparation methods as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Represent the community during health department inspections and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate culinary staff to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Culinary degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of commercial kitchen cooking and supervisory experience.
  • Culinary school training and experience working in a retirement community preferred.
  • Current ServSafe certification or related food handling certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
