Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Residential Care Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the effective management of a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves overseeing daily operations and ensuring that the needs of the residents are met with compassion and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer the household in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Monitor the health and safety requirements of the residents.
  • Provide orientation, training, and ongoing supervision to Direct Support Professionals.
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance and incidents.
  • Serve as the primary contact for house staff, facilitating communication and support.
  • Demonstrate effective management skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Oversee inventory management for household supplies, including groceries and cleaning materials.
  • Maintain financial documentation related to client expenditures and budgets.
  • Assist residents with personal care tasks as needed.
  • Complete visit records promptly for quality assurance purposes.
  • Report any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Provide essential household services to support health care needs.
  • Coordinate and assist with residents' appointments.
  • Support residents in meal preparation according to dietary requirements.
  • Encourage residents to set and achieve personal goals, fostering social and community involvement.
  • Assist with medication management as required.
  • Ensure a safe and clean living environment for all residents.
  • Report any safety concerns or issues within the home.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (provided by the employer).
  • Direct Support Professional Certification (provided by the employer).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to engage in physical activities as required.
  • Mobility to perform bending, lifting, and standing tasks throughout the shift.
  • Capability to assist residents with mobility as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently.

Additional Information:
This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, and additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
