Position Summary

The Residential Care Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effective management of a client's residence. This role involves overseeing the staff (Direct Support Professionals) who assist our clients, creating daily schedules, maintaining documentation, supporting self-care routines, and preparing meals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the home operates in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Monitor the health and safety requirements of the individuals in care.
  • Train and supervise Direct Support Professionals, evaluating their performance regularly.
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and maintain a log of absences.
  • Serve as the primary contact for house staff.
  • Effectively handle potentially stressful situations with professionalism.
  • Maintain an inventory of household supplies, including groceries and cleaning materials.
  • Keep accurate financial records of client purchases and monitor budgets as needed.
  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing and grooming, as required.
  • Complete visit records promptly for quality assurance purposes.
  • Report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform essential household services that support healthcare in the home.
  • Coordinate client appointments and assist with transportation as necessary.
  • Support clients in meal preparation according to their dietary requirements.
  • Encourage clients to set personal goals and engage in social activities.
  • Assist with medication administration when applicable.
  • Help maintain a safe and clean living environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or issues within the home.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (provided by the company).
  • Direct Support Professional Certification (provided by the company).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to engage in physical activities as needed.
  • Mobility to bend, lift, and stand during shifts.
  • Capability to assist clients with mobility as required.

Additional Responsibilities: This list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds independently.
  • Ability to assist in repositioning clients of any weight with support or adaptive equipment.
  • Maintain current CPR certification and background checks.
  • Complete state-mandated annual training and re-certification.
