Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Multiple Openings Available

The Test Technician will assist senior engineers and technicians in evaluating vehicles and components, executing configuration modifications, and conducting repairs on vehicles and testing equipment. This role will also involve supporting the assembly and fabrication of vehicles and associated systems/sub-systems. The primary goal is to verify new product designs during the development phase and address issues with existing products. The Technician is expected to deliver outstanding technical assistance to clients and the Test and Development team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct assessments of prototypes and existing products to evaluate the performance of vehicles/systems and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations in collaboration with engineers and senior technicians.
  2. Collect and document data utilizing knowledge of vehicle systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) through manual entry and data acquisition methods.
  3. Troubleshoot systems, perform basic failure analysis, and adhere to detailed testing protocols.
  4. Assemble, disassemble, and create intricate/customized components, mechanical structures, and testing fixtures in conjunction with engineers and senior technicians.
  5. Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety protocols during job performance, which includes regular exposure to potential hazards.
  6. Operate heavy machinery or drive vehicles as necessary for testing or material handling purposes.
  7. Select appropriate testing instruments for product evaluations.
  8. Organize and prioritize daily tasks to efficiently complete assignments and ensure projects are finished within the established timelines.
  9. Communicate effectively and collaborate across departments to resolve technical challenges, providing constructive feedback to all organizational levels.
  10. Interpret and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Diploma with three (3) years of relevant experience in engineering or an equivalent background.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience in engineering or an equivalent background.
Certified Welder (CW) (internal certification required at Commercial segment).
Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics.
Familiarity with automotive and mechanical terminology.
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or Telehandler and AWP operator certification.
Capability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operational and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedural manuals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
