Job Summary:

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a skilled Production Welder to join our team. As a leading manufacturer of tactical vehicles, we are committed to meeting and surpassing the evolving needs of our customers with cutting-edge defense technologies and advanced systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, tack, and weld ferrous and nonferrous materials to precise specifications
  • Understand and apply applicable welding procedure specifications to ensure high-quality welds
  • Emphasize the aesthetic appearance of welds and criticality of application in a fast-paced production environment
  • Cut, grind, fit, and bend parts to fit weldments as required, adhering to strict quality standards
  • Clean and deburr welds to satisfy customers and applicable weld codes, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Perform testing and inspection of welds to meet quality requirements, identifying and addressing any defects or issues
  • Salvage and rebuild parts as directed, utilizing technical skills and knowledge to resolve complex problems

Requirements:

  • Equivalent to four years of high school plus technical training in welding, with a strong foundation in welding principles and practices
  • Ability to pass required weld tests associated with applicable welding standards, demonstrating a high level of technical competence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience welding large, heavy industrial equipment, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience welding with stainless steel filler metal and associated equipment, with a strong understanding of the materials and processes involved

Compensation and Benefits:

Hiring rate of pay is $26.13 with a potential increase to $32.26 per hour, plus a 2nd shift premium of $0.70 per hour additional
