Position: Patient Care Support Specialist

Role Overview:
The Patient Care Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting individuals seeking sexual and reproductive health services. This position involves interviewing, screening, educating, and preparing patients for their appointments. As a key member of our health care team, the specialist provides both medical and administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate clinic flow and ensure the availability of necessary patient care supplies.
  • Perform laboratory and screening procedures while participating in the implementation of patient care plans.
  • Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients, answering inquiries, and scheduling appointments.
  • Document patient history in electronic health records (EHR) while adhering to agency policies.
  • Assist clinical staff during examinations and procedures, providing essential patient support.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and document results, alerting licensed staff to any abnormalities.
  • Administer vital signs, injections, and other procedures under the supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Dispense medications and contraceptives as per clinician's orders.
  • Stay informed on relevant health care practices, community resources, and agency protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and office software is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
