Job Summary:

Ashland is seeking a Regional Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of the global marketing strategy and initiatives for our Biofunctionals Business Line within the Personal Care business in North America.

This is a visible and significant role within Ashland and the personal care business. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager for Biofunctionals and be based in our Bridgewater, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional development and execution of the global marketing strategy and initiatives
  • Execute regional marketing activities such as campaigns, promotions, and analyzing KPIs for effectiveness
  • Lead the regional sales trainings and customer seminars
  • Adapt marketing messages and communication strategies to the region
  • Collect, provide market intelligence & competitive intelligence and customer segmentation management to global marketing leader to maximize sales activity and focus
  • Support technically sales teams for Tier 2 customers
  • Drive and define regional marketing strategy development for growth in close collaboration with global marketing and Biofunctionals GM
  • Responsible for delivering regional price and margin targets together with the global product manager
  • Drive and provide detailed guidance to regional sales to maximize impact of products at each customer. Monitor results and adjust strategy.
  • Connect with industry in the region. Identify relevant associations and take active leadership role. Drive participation in regional industry events and conferences.
  • Define regional unmet market / customer needs that cannot be achieved via existing product portfolio to initiate and drive to closure of eventual new products adapted to the region.
  • Address communication and campaign needs
  • Ensure regional marketing coordination
  • Serve as a pivotal bridge between regional sales teams, global marketing and global product management.
  • Ensure that goals are unified, and strategies are cohesive with the directives from global marketing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or science
  • 5 years of experience and demonstrated success in the personal care industry
  • Experienced in marketing (and/or commercial) role preferably in the designated region
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy development and execution, market and trend research, customer segmentation, communication channel mix
  • Excellent communication skills, talent for building strong networks within Ashland but also with potential customers and external partners
  • Self-driven and tenacious with strong project management skills
  • Willingness to travel in the region - 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, preferably an MBA
  • Experience working in the personal care market
  • Project management skills
