Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of eight years of experience in managing multimedia communication projects, utilizing elements of audiovisual production, graphic design for digital platforms, or print media. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in video/television/film production, web design, graphic design, communication design, or a related field, along with four years of relevant experience, is acceptable. Additionally, at least one year of this experience should be in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:
Current employees in the same title or those eligible for reinstatement are encouraged to apply. Candidates may also qualify for transfer if they have completed one year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 23 or higher.

Specific Experience:
Applicants should have one year of permanent competitive service as a Health Education Media Specialist 3 or Multimedia Production Program Specialist 2. Candidates under the 55-b/55-c program must meet the minimum qualifications and provide the necessary documentation with their application.

Job Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the bureau staff, including Multimedia Production Program Specialists and Graphic Designers.
  • Assigning projects and setting priorities to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Reviewing, monitoring, and approving communication products.
  • Collaborating with printing and multimedia service providers to meet project specifications and deadlines.
  • Managing project concept development, timelines, and strategies.
  • Coordinating with editors, writers, and technical staff to produce various communication materials, including reports, online publications, brochures, and social media graphics.
  • Supporting the agency's marketing initiatives through graphic design, video production, and printed materials.
  • Managing and tracking the bureau's budget and expenditures.
  • Conducting annual assessments of equipment needs and tracking costs.
  • Staying updated on digital technologies related to design, photography, video production, and printing.
  • Collaborating with agency staff on script development.
  • Working with the Communication Services director to evaluate the bureau's needs and workflow.

Additional Information:
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet transportation requirements. Some travel, including overnight trips, may be necessary, and work on weekends and holidays could be required. Telecommuting options may be discussed during the interview process.
