Event Operations Supervisor

OVERVIEW

The Event Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily activities of the event team and ensuring the successful execution of events at our venue. This position plays a crucial role in aligning with the organization’s objectives, vision, mission, and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading pre-event meetings to communicate specific requirements for setups, including buffets and receptions, while providing an overview of the day's events.
  • Reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and verifying all room arrangements prior to events to ensure accuracy in china, glassware, silverware, linens, and floor plans.
  • Coordinating with the Banquet Chef to confirm food quantities and timing before service, and preparing a detailed report after each event to summarize service outcomes.
  • Participating in meetings such as pre-cons and resumes, and undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned based on operational needs.
  • Completing other assigned tasks as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in event operations.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in customer service roles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required state licenses and certifications, such as Food Handler's Card and TIPS Certification.
  • Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be capable of bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching to complete tasks. This role requires manual dexterity, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, and climbing. Must be able to stand and maintain mobility for up to 8 hours at a time. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a semi-regular basis.
