Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Prepare, test, and operate dialysis machines for patient treatments.
  • Record and document essential pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
  • Assess vascular access prior to treatment and perform necessary procedures.
  • Identify and address intradialytic issues as directed by physician orders.
  • Monitor patients' responses to dialysis therapy.
  • Conclude dialysis treatment according to established protocols.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient conditions to the supervisor.
  • Accurately enter treatment data into the designated clinical application.
  • Collect and prepare lab samples according to laboratory standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dialysis equipment and treatment areas.
  • Support healthcare team members in educating patients.
  • Efficiently manage supplies and equipment to minimize waste.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Dependable, compassionate, caring, supportive, and collaborative qualities are essential.
  • Previous experience in patient care within a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and CPR certification.

  • The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility, with controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels. Exposure to infectious materials may occur.
  • This position involves direct patient care, which may require heavy lifting and assistance with patient mobility. Equipment aids and coworkers may provide support. Frequent standing and bending are necessary, along with the ability to lift and lower equipment as needed.

The compensation for this position will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education, experience, skills, and competencies.
