Position Summary

The Ground Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to all internal and external clients by utilizing comprehensive knowledge of company protocols and the appropriate handling of aircraft. This position requires effective communication with customers, pilots, and fellow team members within the customer service division.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage aircraft movement, positioning, fueling, and storage.
  2. Oversee fuel quality control, disposal, and related documentation.
  3. Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of crew vehicles.
  4. Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of facilities.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service and promote available services.
  6. Participate in monthly crew meetings.
  7. Engage in annual recurrent training.
Essential Competencies
  1. Customer-oriented with a naturally outgoing personality.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members in person, via phone, and through radio communications.
  3. Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by our insurance provider (clean driving record required).
  4. Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
  6. Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Line Service Manager.

Work Environment

The Ground Support Specialist operates outdoors in various weather conditions and has direct interaction with both stationary and moving aircraft. This position may involve exposure to high noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  2. Potential exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
  3. Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  4. Physical activities may include bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing ladders.
Position Type and Work Schedule

This is a non-exempt position that includes shift work, requiring availability for evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays.

Travel Requirements

No travel is anticipated for this role.

Qualifications
  1. Experience in customer service within the service industry is preferred.
  2. Prior experience in aircraft ground handling is advantageous.
  3. A high school diploma is required.
  4. This is an entry-level position.
  5. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  6. Must have an acceptable driving record.
  7. Ability to pass a background check is required.
  8. Must adhere to a zero-tolerance drug-free policy, including pre-employment and random screenings.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $16.74 to $19.00, depending on experience.
