We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Chef Daniel Boulud Restaurants. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily production team and execution of off-premises catering events.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Catering Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen and event operations
- Responsible for all aspects of food production, including quality assurance, cost control, employee training, and employee relations
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations
- Lead and motivate a team of cooks to achieve high-quality food production and excellent customer service
- Collaborate with the Catering Chef to design and implement menus that meet the needs of our clients
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order
- Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels
- Develop and implement strategies to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity
- Minimum of two years of high-end restaurant/catering experience
- Proven track record of leading a team and achieving high-quality results
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and regulations
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
