Job Summary

The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly experienced and strategic HR Director to lead the Human Resources team for the IT department. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in shaping the future of IT at Johns Hopkins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the IT department's goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance to IT leaders on HR-related matters, including talent management, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Lead the HR team in providing HR services to IT employees, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee relations.
  • Collaborate with IT leaders to develop and implement HR programs and initiatives that support the department's business objectives.
  • Develop and manage HR budgets and resources to ensure effective delivery of HR services.
  • Provide HR expertise and support to IT leaders on HR-related matters, including compliance, employee relations, and labor relations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with IT leaders, employees, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with HR best practices, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and effective HR service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in HR leadership, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of HR professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with IT leaders, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, with the ability to ensure compliance and effective HR service delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience working in a higher education or healthcare environment.
