Job Title: Business Development/Capture Manager

The Business Development/Capture Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth for the Universities Space Research Association (USRA). This position is responsible for developing and executing business development strategies to identify and pursue new contract opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and pursue new contract opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and USRA leadership
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and deliver high-quality proposals
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a three-year revolving pipeline of new contract opportunities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, engineering, and/or business; Master's degree preferred
  • 10 years of related work experience serving in business development/capture management or technical program management roles within the federal government contracting arena
  • Proven success and network of contacts with one or more of the following government agencies: NASA, NOAA, EPA, NSF, DOE, FAA, and DoD
  • Excellent team building and networking skills, with proven ability to manage high-performing professionals
  • Ability to use cross-organizational knowledge and network to develop new opportunities
Working Conditions:

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Extensive online usage. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, and use their hands. Keyboarding for large time spans each day will be a significant part of this position.

Washington, DC, or close proximity to current/potential customers preferred; remote possible. Up to 25% travel.
