Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of high-profile events, including planning, coordination, and execution
  • Develop and implement stakeholders' roles and responsibilities
  • Motivate and mentor staff assigned to events, providing open communication on expectations
  • Ensure planning teams are working towards event goals and fundraising priorities
  • Provide transparency to partners and leadership on project status and communicate any issues promptly
  • Plan the experience and ambiance at events creatively and thematically
  • Work with venue and vendor selections and contract negotiations to ensure events are executed on time and on budget
  • Troubleshoot for both virtual and in-person events
  • Create an environment that embraces a continuous feedback loop and carries forward lessons learned to other events
Requirements
  • Previous experience managing and executing events required
  • Ability to initiate strategies that serve the long-term need of the organization; think strategically
  • Knowledge of the organization/institution (Harvard) as well as local units
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and influence
