Role Summary

As the Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in overseeing the Culinary Department within a senior living facility. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the management of food preparation, menu development, and the overall culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Executive Chef in managing budgetary controls and overseeing expenditures.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design and implement innovative menus.
  • Coordinate and execute catering events with precision.
  • Assist in launching new culinary initiatives in partnership with the marketing and culinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts.
  • Progressive experience in culinary or kitchen management.
  • Experience in a senior living or independent living culinary environment is preferred.
  • Catering experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in high-volume food service operations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking practices.
  • Strong understanding of food trends, quality standards, sanitation, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
