Position Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Research Scientist with expertise in Microbiology to contribute to our pioneering bio-cementation initiatives. The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of microbial physiology, environmental microbiology, or geomicrobiology, and will be driven by a passion for scientific exploration and discovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Isolate and enrich microorganisms with specific physiological characteristics from various environmental samples.
  • Design and conduct comprehensive experiments to investigate microbial metabolism in both liquid cultures and natural settings.
  • Utilize advanced molecular techniques, including metagenomics and bioinformatics, to analyze microbial communities.
  • Employ both traditional and contemporary methods to quantify bacterial populations.
  • Develop and refine microbiological assays and experimental protocols.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in microbiology and integrate innovative strategies into research projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D and engineering, to achieve project goals.
  • Effectively communicate research findings and scientific concepts to diverse audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Geomicrobiology, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in microbial research, including molecular techniques and bioinformatics.
  • Familiarity with genetic manipulation of non-model organisms and the physiology of spore-forming bacteria is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
