Position Summary
The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) oversees the design, construction, launch, and maintenance of the United States' intelligence satellites.
At Apogee Integration LLC, we are seeking a dedicated Risk Engineer to facilitate the execution of the Enterprise Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) Process. This role involves identifying and evaluating risks, determining appropriate handling strategies, and ensuring timely tracking, reporting, and resolution of RIO.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the identification of RIO, risk mitigation, and strategic planning.
- Coordinate and assess responses to risks, issues, and opportunities, including preparing briefings and updating documentation for decision-making processes.
- Advise risk working groups on risks/issues/opportunities that warrant enterprise-level visibility.
- Contribute to the creation of reports and white papers that evaluate program activities related to risks/issues/opportunities.
- Utilize the Enterprise RIOM Tool for data input, report generation, and risk assessment.
- Provide training to new team members on risk tools and processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Develop metrics for process improvement to evaluate the effectiveness of the overall risk management process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related area.
- Familiarity with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and architecture frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
- Experience in satellite systems program offices or satellite development environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to propose solutions for complex issues.
- Proven ability to communicate openly and work collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with GEOINT, SIGINT, and/or COMM systems and knowledge of space and ground architecture.
- Understanding of core Systems Engineering Disciplines, including Requirements, Schedule, Risk, Readiness, System Closure, and VV&T.
- Familiarity with the Intelligence Community and associated government entities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
